Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I share the things I love- fashion, style and life experiences. Hope you enjoy the stories!

Feminine Frills

Feminine Frills

Lace and frills are a girl's best friend. Think feminine, think classic, lace comes to mind and nothing can make you feel prettier and daintier than lace. Perhaps a better choice of words would be elegant.

There is something about having a garment specifically tailored to your measurements, you feel as if you are not wearing anything. It is yours and yours only.  This is part of why I love creating my own wearable pieces. You can choose how you want it to fit, where you want to accentuate. How you look and feel is all in your hands.

My skirt was created using Simplicity Pattern 1166 which I bought from Joann's Arts and Craft a while back. I altered a few things here and there.  The pattern is part of their 1950's vintage collection. This pattern is beautiful and so easy to alter.

I will be creating another skirt using some floral fabric I bought awhile back. I will share soon.

I feel most beautiful when I am wearing pieces that don't overpower me or aren't too complicated. I love simplicity. Your garments should accentuate your personality. Never allow trends to rob you of self-expression, keep in mind whatever is trending is a representation of someone's else expression and choice.

You have the right and choice to express who you are through style. We've been doing it for centuries.
